Design Notes
LL 37 has been found to have antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria including E. coli. Due to the toxicity of the peptide against the chosen chassis, an inducilbe promoter was chosen to control the expression of the part. iGEM12_Trieste optimized the sequence of LL 37 for E. coli expression.
